Gestational surrogacy

Gestational surrogacy is a compassionate solution for individuals or couples who are unable to carry a pregnancy. Gestational surrogacy provides a pathway to parenthood for a diverse range of individuals, including single fathers, same-sex couples, and heterosexual couples.

With gestational surrogacy, you have the flexibility to use either your own eggs or donor eggs. It’s essentially an in vitro fertilization (IVF) process, where we retrieve eggs from the intended mother or an egg donor, fertilize them with the intended father’s sperm or donor sperm, and transfer the resulting embryo to the gestational carrier. Besides, if you already have frozen embryos from previous fertility treatments in your home country, we offer the convenience of shipping them to our clinic for the embryo transfer procedure. This allows you to take advantage of our expertise and facilities, ensuring a seamless continuation of your journey towards parenthood.

Why do people choose gestational surrogacy? There are various reasons. It provides a viable option for individuals with conditions such as the absence of a uterus (congenital or due to prior hysterectomy), repeated IVF failures with egg donation or PGT-A cycles, thin endometrium issues, or severe uterine factor infertility like fibroids, adenomyosis, or intrauterine adhesions. Furthermore, gestational surrogacy is an inclusive option for single fathers, same-sex couples (including gay couples), and transgender individuals.

As legal considerations are crucial, we highly recommend seeking guidance from a specialized attorney who can provide detailed information about the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved. It’s important to understand that legal aspects can vary depending on the state and country where the baby will be born. Presently, Argentina is regarded as a top destination for surrogacy due to its favorable legal and economic conditions.

We are here to support you throughout the gestational surrogacy process and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to reach out to us for further information and personalized assistance in fulfilling your dreams of becoming a parent.

Success rates

In gestational surrogacy, the success rates are influenced by the age of the eggs. In the case of using own eggs, it depends on the age of the intended mother. For those using egg donation with PGT-A, our clinical pregnancy rate is around 60-70%, which is comparable to most clinics in the USA and higher than the rates published by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Endocrinology (ESHRE) and the Latin-American registry (Latin-American Registry of Assisted Reproduction).

Why do we have such good statistics?

We take pride in operating one of the largest embryology lab in Latin America, equipped with state-of-the-art culture media and an ample number of incubators to cater to our patients’ needs and improve the success rates. As part of our commitment to success, we exclusively perform blastocyst stage transfers. In cases involving donor eggs, we ensure a minimum allocation of 7 mature eggs per recipient, with an average of 8-9 eggs. Additionally, for egg donation, we guarantee that all recipients will receive at least one blastocyst (day 5 embryo) for transfer. In gestational surrogacy cycles, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT-A) is always conducted, and each embryo transfer boasts a remarkable success rate around 70%. In these cases of egg donation with PGT-A, we guarantee the transfer of a minimum of one chromosomically normal blastocyst.

The advantages of doing it in with Dr. Glujovsky at CEGYR, Argentina

Opting for gestational surrogacy in the USA or Europe can come with exorbitant costs, particularly when considering the expenses associated with the IVF process. In Argentina, the cost of IVF is less than half of what it is in those regions, and in the case of egg donation, it is less than a quarter of the price.

Why are our prices more affordable compared to most countries? Argentina experienced currency devaluation in 2012, in 2018 and again in 2022-2023. Additionally, medical expenditures in Argentina are generally lower due to reduced medical fees compared to other countries.

Does this mean compromised quality? Not at all. At Fertility Argentina (in charge of international patients at CEGYR), we proudly serve over 250 international patients, primarily from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Uruguay, Chile, UK, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, EAU, Brazil, and Peru. The primary reason for their choice is our ability to provide high success rates at an affordable price, coupled with personalized attention. It’s the perfect combination. The professionals at CEGYR not only uphold a high standard of medical expertise but also ensure patients receive a positive, professional experience within a safe program that rivals the best in the USA. CEGYR holds ISO 9001 certification for quality and adheres to the key principles outlined by the Assisted Conception Taskforce (ACT). Established in 1983, CEGYR was the first IVF clinic in the country.

Our objective aligns with yours: to help you conceive a healthy baby as quickly and easily as possible while prioritizing the highest safety standards for infectious and genetic factors. After analyzing your case, we will tailor a customized plan specifically for you. What sets us apart is not only what we do but also, and equally important, how we do it. Our criteria revolve around achieving the highest pregnancy rates, reducing waiting times, and fostering direct communication between patients and doctors.

If you are considering gestational surrogacy combined with egg donation, we also encourage you to explore our comprehensive egg donor program.

How to get a gestational carrier

The gestational carrier is the woman that will carry the pregnancy but who has no intention of being the mother. Our clinic does not provide the service of finding a gestational carrier. Therefore, there are two options for that. One of them is that a known person of the intended parents agrees to be the gestational carrier. A second option is that the intended parents get a gestational carrier at an agency that works for that (there are some options in USA and also out of USA – we can help at this point, if needed-).

    Egg Donation an effective way
