NEWS – ASSISTED REPRODUCTION

More and more women are choosing to freeze their eggs to preserve their fertility and gain more freedom in deciding when to start a family. It’s a bold and proactive choice—but also a complex one, and it deserves to be made with the best possible information.

What is egg freezing?

Egg freezing—or oocyte cryopreservation—is a safe and effective technique that allows you to preserve your eggs when they are most likely to be genetically normal, so you can use them later if and when you decide to.

As time goes by, the proportion of abnormal eggs increases, leading to a lower chance of implantation (pregnancy), a higher risk of miscarriage, and a greater likelihood of chromosomal abnormalities in newborns, such as Down syndrome. That’s why more and more women around the world are turning to this technique to keep the door open to motherhood in the future.

Can it be done at any age?

Technically, yes—but that doesn’t mean it’s always the right time. The ideal window is early adulthood, particularly between the ages of 25 and 35. However, if you’re thinking about it a little later—between 35 and 40—it can still be a great decision, as egg quality declines more quickly with age.

What about after 40? The chances of success drop significantly, but it’s not impossible. In that case, it’s essential to speak with your doctor to assess whether it’s worth pursuing, based on your individual situation. It’s not common, but no option should be dismissed without expert medical advice.

Is egg freezing the same at every clinic?

No. While fertility treatments may look similar on the surface, there are important differences between clinics—in both success rates and the overall patient experience.

We often receive online inquiries like: “How much does egg freezing cost?” But offering a price quote without understanding your medical history and personal context can be misleading. At Fertility Argentina, based in Buenos Aires, we prefer to provide this information after an initial consultation, where we carefully evaluate each case.

Why is our clinic different?

Because we believe in doing things right from the start. This includes:

  • A high-complexity assisted reproduction laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and optimal conditions for embryo work.

  • Highly experienced embryologists, with years of expertise in vitrification and cellular handling.

  • Top-quality materials: from culture media to medication and disposable supplies.

  • Personalized medical care: every patient is seen directly by me, Dr. Demián Glujovsky. I’ll be the one who conducts your first consultation, handles your follow-up, performs the egg retrieval, and remains available for you via email, WhatsApp, or phone. I believe that fluid, personal communication makes a real difference.

We don’t rotate patients through different teams. This ensures closer follow-up, better-informed decisions, and a more human experience.

Yes, it’s possible to lower costs by using lower-tier labs, minimal-medication protocols, or mass, impersonal care. But we choose to work in a way that increases your chances of success when you eventually use your eggs through IVF. If we cut corners today, we may be cutting your chances tomorrow.

How do I get started?

The best way to find out if this treatment is right for you is to schedule a first consultation. (If you live far from Buenos Aires, we can do this by video call.) During that first appointment, we will:

  • Assess your ovarian reserve and medical history

  • Explain step-by-step what egg freezing involves

  • Create a personalized plan based on your age, goals, and needs

You may have already heard some of this before—but how information is communicated makes a big difference. I aim to ensure that everything is clear, evidence-based, and truly supports your decision-making process.

We also want you to understand how we work. Because differences in approach and quality can affect your future results.

Freezing your eggs is an investment in your future

Oocyte vitrification is not just a medical procedure—it’s a powerful tool that gives you more freedom to plan your life on your terms. And choosing the right clinic is a key decision.

At Fertility Argentina, in Buenos Aires, we are committed to the highest scientific, ethical, and human standards of care.
