A cosmopolitan destination

BUENOS AIRES

Buenos Aires, the so-called “Reina del Plata” (Queen of the River Plate), is the capital of the Republic of Argentina. It is a safe, modern, cosmopolitan city that features the European architecture of its founders. The city astonishes tourists with its worldly feel. The European influences in art, architecture, literature and Argentine lifestyle is evident in every step taken here. This international and elegant city promises an enjoyable stay.

Buenos Aires has an intense cultural life where tango, long coffee breaks and football (soccer) are essential elements to daily life. Its countless museums, exposition and conference centers, art galleries, cinemas and theatres host national and international events of the highest quality. Its nightlife is extensive and typically lasts until the early hours of the morning. Discos, restaurants, “cafeterías” and many other attractions abound. Visitors to the city will be thrilled with the endless list of possibilities.

Argentina is a huge country with diverse cultures and landscapes. It includes deserts, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, seas, forests and fields. The immense pampas, the world-renowned vineyard region – Mendoza, the mountain range called Cordillera de Los Andes, the Iguazú Waterfalls and the Glacier Perito Moreno are only some of the natural marvels that attract tourists from all over the world.

  • ZIKA IS NOT A CONCERN IN BUENOS AIRES

Argentinian medicine has always been considered one of the best in the world, consistent with the most important cities in the USA and Europe. Health-based tourism is also increasingly more common today; mainly in the fields of plastic surgery and infertility treatments. Just 10 days in Argentina are enough for an IVF cycle or an egg donation treatment.

In Buenos Aires the weather is mild; winter lasts from June to September and summer from December to March.

During winter, it is warm enough to wear a simple coat and a scarf. The lowest temperatures are about 0º C / 32º F. In the summer, the highest temperatures are about 37º C / 98º F.

Spanish is the official language. Most of the people working in areas related to tourism speak English fluently. And our team at the international patients department speak fluent English and will help you to avoid that language is a barrier during your stay in Argentina.

Direct flights from the United States leave daily from Miami, New York, Dallas, Washington, Atlanta and Houston on American Airlines, United Airlines, LAN, Aerolineas Argentina and Delta. You can get a 10% discount if you fly with Aerolíneas Argentinas from Miami or New York (ask us to get that discount).

Direct flights from New Zealand leave from Auckland on Air New Zealand. LAN and Qantas fly from Australia, with one stop in Chile.

In 2018, Air Canada will start flying directly from Toronto to Buenos Aires.

United States citizens are not required to have a visa to enter Argentina at this time. Contact the embassy or consulate of Argentina in your home country to confirm that you do not require a visa to enter the country.

Zika virus is not a problem in Buenos Aires at this moment. Although CDC gave Argentina a purple color in the map, they missed to analyze the different regions in our country. The north of Argentina is more tropical and it is close to Brazil. That is why Zika could be present there. However, Buenos Aires is in the center of the country, far away from the north. It can be seen in the same CDC map that Uruguay (a country that is just 30 Km away from Buenos Aires) is classified as an “Area with no known risk of Zika infection”. It is easy to understand that Buenos Aires has the same (low) risk too.

Mosquitos repellent is always recommended (it is a general recommendation) but it is not an important concern for those who come just a few days for tourism or medical travel.
